Quilts for Seven Stars Foundation

We have been asked to join the Chugach Mountain Quilters' Guild and the Anchorage Log Cabin Quilters Guild in providing youth-sized quilts (60x70) for the Seven Stars Foundation that supports the military by sending children ages 7-17 to YMCA camps in the summer.  These kids are from families of fallen, wounded, active, deployed, and reservists in military service.  This year the Foundation will be sending 30 youth to YMCA Camp Peggy Lake in Willow, Alaska, in August.

Last year 286 kids were able to attend a camp through the grants and donations to this all-volunteer organization.  The Foundation was started by Laura & Joe Landaker to send kids to YMCA Camp Whittle in Big Bear City, California, following the death of their son, Jared, and his fellow crew members in Iraq.  Please go to their website to watch their video and camp information.  SEVEN STARS FOUNDATION

This year they will be sending kids to YMCA camps in Alaska, California, Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, and Washington!

We want these kids to know that we did this for them locally.  It is such a
joy and blessing to see those faces light up when they pull their own
personal quilt out of their backpack!  Any of our Guild Members would be
welcome to visit the camp when the backpacks are delivered to them.

The deadline for these quilts is July.
