Education Committee

Our purpose is to:

1.   Contribute to the knowledge and appreciation of fine quilts;
2.   Sponsor and support quilting activities;
3    Encourage quilt making and collecting; and
4.   Promote the growth of knowledge of quilting techniques, textiles, patterns, history

      and quilt makers.

Bucket List

The Bucket List has been very popular and will begin again in January 2019.  Each completed project for that month puts your name in our drawing for Just Sew or Sylvia's Gift Certificates.

Think about which UFOs you want to complete in 2019. Maybe, like some of us, you may not complete everything you listed for 2018. This will be your chance to include those for 2019. Visit the Education Table at the monthly meeting to sign up for this challenge.  Deadline is the March meeting; however, a new member can submit a list upon joining the Guild.

Fabric Challenge

February through May 2019

Each participating member will receive a fat quarter of Moda's Gradient II Splash.

RULES:

Sign up at Education and pay $5 (cash or check only).

Pick up your fat quarter at the February meeting, until the fabric runs out (we have enough for approximately 80 members).

Your $5 will be refunded if you complete the challenge by the May Membership meeting.

The Challenge Fabric must be used on the front of your quilt or visible on the outside of a quilted item.

Quilts can be any size from a table runner or wallhanging to a full-size quilt or any quilted item such as a tote bag, quilted clothing, potholder, placemats, etc.

You can use any fabrics of your choice to go with the Challenge Fabric.

These will be on display at the May Membership meeting for viewer's choice voting. Three (3) prizes will be awarded; first place will receive a gift certificate to a local quilt shop.
